The Root Test

(i) If  , then the series    is absolutely convergent (and therefore convergent).

(ii) If    or  then the series    is divergent.

(iii) If  , the Root Test is inconclusive.

EXAMPLE 6: Test the convergence of the serie

Thus the given series is absolutely convergent (and therefore convergent) by the Root Test.
